There is a white 97 talon tsi fwd on Craigslist for $4600

I went and saw it at cars and coffee and it is exceptionally clean and mostly in molested but I still think its worth only $4k at best

It has a new head on it however its owned by a 17yr old who did all the work himself. It is missing an exhaust manifold stud and it has a boost creep problem on the stock t25 and he has an external 02 dump. It also has a 6 bolt valve cover because he over torqued the 7 bolt.

The clutch nearly catches on the floor.

Ah I think it helped me to just put it on paper. I really want an unmolested clean 2g a or talon but i think they are extinct

Just don't sell it to the last guy that bought a DSM from you!

I was worried this was the same kid who bought the last one at first. I have the window sticker from your old car framed in my garage with my collection. Not sure why but I like to collect them

You give these cars more credit than I do. I'd give 2k if it had more oil pressure and the 1/2 shift fork wasn't broken.

Shift fork does not appear to be broken I believe the clutch catching at the floor is the reason why he has problems. While driving I could not replicate the problem he was experiencing. But yes I am giving the car more credit than it deserves but given the market I am willing to pay $4k for an unmolested mostly stock 2ga

How much would you pay for a stock '99 auto awd?

Four to six. But I'm more interested in buying a wind tunnel suit or scuba equipment.

I should have specified...I was responding to chrysler kid.

I thought you were done with these things, anyways Brian... :whistle:/> . Wind tunnel/scuba gear>DSM.

It pays to be patient. This is the first 2ga I've seen locally in a long time that is bone stock and garage kept. Everything is 10/10 I am the second owner

Thanks scott, never thought I'd own one that would be able to be called stock again. The dsm market especially for 2nd Gen is slim to none.

I would like some bolt on mods, this thing builds boost so damn slow for the t25

112k miles. I was able to get it for $3700, I was aiming for $3500 without the fully optioned jvc radio but he wouldn't budge. It's a nice radio but I really just wanted the factory infinity cassette player which he didn't have

And a throw back picture of my original car. Can you believe this was 12 years ago

This forum is gay, runt fix the cookies I have to re log in every time I visit the site.

Anyways I'm going to document the car here as I drive it and keep her going.

Pros:
There is no valve noise, idles perfect, ac ice cold

Cons:
blown passengers side front shock
crappy tint
whiny first gear, pops out of fourth. Oh well not going to fret over it for now
sway bar end links rattle

Modifications:
Old school mbc. Parts store special like the old days
blow off valve adapter for type s bov
ebay special type s bov
Bosch boost gauge

The stock 2g bov is leaking and irradic, sometimes it will hold other times the car will barely build boost.

Goals: fun daily driver without adding extra wear and tear.

Right now I'm really enjoying the stock exhaust. So no plans to modify that until I find a good used name brand.

I can't believe ebay prices, I remember paying $125 for an safc 10 years ago and they are all 200+ on ebay. Did people really pay $600 for name brand exhausts and $250 for blow off valves? Lol

Radiator doesn't leak or have a crack, yet. Just discolored.

These cars aren't exactly supra status in their retail value.

I also deleted the recirc tube on the stock rubber intake and modified the lower air box housing. I have ordered a mas cone filter adapter for $10 but I'm thinking of just fabricating an aluminum air box housing

If anyone knows some one with a dejon or injen intake for sale second hand please let me know, I prefer the dejon but they are hard to find.

And yes I know fp makes one but with the recirc tube option plus coupler adapters it's a bit more than I want to spend

Too bad you don't have the new radiator from the one you bought from me.

Yeah I just wasn't at a place where I could restore your car to the daily driver I needed it to be.

The oil pan gasket is leaking on my current gst, it looks like it will be pretty simple to drop the pan though.

Ran a carfax on it and it's all legit

No, I'm pretty sure it's just the two of us here that actually own a dsm.

I work in the colony so you're not too far away.

How did you find yours? How far did you have to revel for it ?

Ha I pass the colony everyday to get home, but yea just found it on craigslist around fair park it was at a small ghetto shop the guy nor the mechanic knew how to work on turbo cars so I offered $1,700 its not that bad, the motor sounded solid and its all stock and has a paint job I'm just working on it little by little, I have a 2g gsx shell laying around in the garage that needs to be put back together as well. Only thing is these are both auto so I'm debating if to even keep them because I love me some manual transmission.
