I dont know if this has been brought up, but in alot of forumns it has how to topics on things that people would like to know how to do hopefully with a write up and pictures (then has to be approved by mods). I could just go to the other sites, but i would like to get in a central site. And the people are nicer on this board and offer more assitance.

I have seen it have little projects such as adding after market gauges, swapping LEDs for you guage cluster or reverse lights, and how to paint rims. I dont know it could be redundant

Look in the "sticky" subjects in the DSM tech section. Anytime someone writes a really good how-to article, it usually ends up there.

I bet if someone had the time and dedication to do a step by step (with pictures) on how to do various mechanical repairs or installations or whatever it would be a sticky on the Tech forums, my plans are to do something similar to that in the future once I have a place to actually tear down a car.
